Burlington Little League Celebrates 68th Opening Night
Over 500 Burlington youth Participating in this Year’s League
BURLINGTON — Months of hard work and preparation led to excitement for the Burlington Little League's 68th annual opening night on May 4 at Hintz Sports Complex.
“Are you ready for some baseball?” Burlington Little League Vice President Ben Zusan said.
Burlington Little League started in 1958. The league has grown to over 500 players this season throughout multiple divisions.
“It really speaks a lot to what the board is doing, what the community is allowing us to do here and the city,” Burlington Little League President Dave Kmetz said. “This is one of the best communities to have baseball.”
Opening night included a flag ceremony with a military flyover, a live performance of the national anthem, ceremonial first pitch and a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Rollie Bauman Practice Facility.
“This is why we continue to put endless amount of hours into this program,” Zusan said. “We do it for every kid in this community and surrounding communities. We love the game of baseball.”
