CSB's 'Cruiser' Treats Habitat for Humanity Volunteers in kenosha
KENOSHA — Habitat for Humanity invited volunteers to roll up their sleeves for Community Build Week in Kenosha.
Established in 2012, Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha is building its 22nd home in the 5500 block of 22nd Avenue in Kenosha.
Volunteers throughout the community — including Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala, Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman, Kenosha Police Department, Kenosha Fire Department, Riley Construction and others — participated in the build to help one local family make the new house their home.
“We’re so thankful for our community because we couldn’t do it without them,” Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha COO Angela Elliott said. “We survive on the support from the community.”
Community State Bank visited the construction site on Tuesday (April 29) in its 1959 vintage Shasta camper “Cruiser” to drop off sandwiches, soda and desserts.
“Every little bit helps I think over here,” said Ben Bruno, CSB Assistant Vice President Business Banker.
“We’re not necessarily pounding the nails in but we’re helping those people that are getting their hands dirty and feeding them and giving them some fuel to get back to work and to complete this home.”
