Community State Bank (CSB) is pleased to announce the appointments of Rita Hagen (MSN, RN, Executive Director of Hospice Alliance) and Adam Swantz (Veterans Service Center Manager of the US Department of Veterans Affairs Chicago Regional Office) to the Community State Bank Board of Directors.
“Our Board is comprised of local business leaders that have an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve,” said CSB Bank President Scott Huedepohl. “Each Board Member brings expertise, knowledge, and exceptional value to our bank. I’m excited to welcome Rita and Adam, and look forward to them providing their unique perspectives to help our communities and our bank continue to succeed.
Hagen, a longtime resident of Kenosha, has been the Executive Director of Hospice Alliance, a local not-for-profit that provides hospice and palliative care, for over 10 years. She also has over 37 years of experience in healthcare. 25 of those years were heavily focused in leadership roles.
Hagen was raised in a very community-oriented family and makes a point to dedicate a large amount of her time giving back to the community. A few of the organizations she donates her time to include: Wisconsin Hospice and Palliative Care Association (WiHPCA), Kenosha County Long Term Care Alliance, Kenosha County Care Transitions, The Kenosha Rotary Club, Tempo Kenosha, Readers are Leaders Tutor, Wisconsin Nurse Honor Guard, Kenosha Women’s Network, KABA/KUSD Mentor, Gateway Technical College and Carthage College Nursing Advisory Council, and 100+ Women Who Care - Kenosha County.
“Community State Bank’s commitment to their customers and to the community has always amazed me. Their values are very similar to mine,” said Hagen. “I’m honored to now be a part of that mission and to provide any insight I can from the non-profit sector, as well as from the Kenosha community.”
Swantz, is the 3rd generation of Swantz’s to join the CSB Board of Directors. He succeeds his father Rich Swantz (1990-2021), as well as his Grandfather, Harmon Swantz. Adam grew up in Union Grove and spent many years of his childhood working in the family hardware store located in Downtown Union Grove.
After graduating from Union Grove High School, he went on to earn his Finance Degree at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater and now is the Veterans Service Center Manager for the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Chicago. He also has held other positions within the organization, such as Lead Program Analyst in Washington D.C. and Assistant Director in New York. Swantz also serves as a Board Member of PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) Professional Board and focuses his efforts on member engagement and philanthropy.
“After living on the East Coast for almost ten years, I’m really excited to return to my hometown and have this opportunity to be involved in my community and at CSB,” said Swantz. “Carrying on the Swantz family legacy with Community State Bank is very important to me, and I look forward to contributing in any way that I can.”
Swantz’s appointment took effect at the end of 2021 and Hagen was recently was appointed in April 2022. They both join eight other Community State Bank Board Members: Chris Antonneau, Michael Bannon, Jeffrey Ehrhart, Peter Huck, Scott Huedepohl (Bank President & CEO), Chris Miller, Brian Pollard, and Gary Schildt.
