Union Grove High School Hosting Veterans on Friday

Numerous Veterans Day Ceremonies Planned in Coming Days

UNION GROVE – Numerous local communities observe Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11 with programs and ceremonies to honor the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces.

The ceremonies kick off on Friday, Nov. 7 at Union Grove High School with its annual Veterans Day Observance.

Veterans are welcome to gather in the school cafeteria between 8 and 8:30 a.m. for check-in, coffee and kringle. The program is scheduled to begin promptly at 8:55 a.m. in the school's large gymnasium, where students and staff join veterans for the ceremony.

Union Grove Veterans Day Observance

Christian Life School Veterans Day Program

Gateway Technical College Veterans Honor Dinner

When: 5 to 7 p.m.

Note: This year’s guest speaker this year is retired Army veteran Joshua Deron, a Crystal Lake VFW Memorial Post 12014 Commander. Among many other things, he is also a peer support specialist at Veterans Path to Hope, which provides housing assistance, employment assistance and more for veterans. American Legion Post 21, American Legion Family Veterans Day Celebration


When: 10 a.m. to Noon. The program includes the Flanders Field Ceremony (10:45 a.m.), Rendering of Honors (11 a.m.), coffee and doughnuts before the ceremony and Veterans Day stew (11:15 a.m.)

Burlington Veterans Day Program

When: 11 a.m.

Where: Veterans Terrace, 589 Milwaukee Ave., Burlington

Note: Opening ceremonies with presenting of the colors begins at 11 a.m. A gun salute takes place at 11:11 a.m. to honor the armistice of World War I.

 

Elkhorn Veterans Day Program

When: 8:15 a.m. (breakfast), 9:25 a.m. (program)

Note: The event is hosted by 2025 Miss Wisconsin Willow Newell and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Zachary Zdroik. After the ceremony, the VFW Post 1391 is presenting a sumptuous Stew Feed.

 

Salem Consolidated Grade School Veterans Day Program
