LAKE GENEVA – Community State Bank’s Sarah Mangold has always had a special place in her heart for animals.

Given the opportunity to support a local nonprofit, Mangold discovered Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital in Lake Geneva.

“I’ve loved animals my whole life, so I knew I wanted to donate to a place that helps them in some way,” Mangold said.

Fellow Mortals was one of 17 local nonprofits chosen as a recipient of over $15,000 raised through Community State Bank’s annual #Gift2Giving donation campaign.

Community State Bank gives each of its employees $150 to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice. In addition to the bank-provided funds, Community State Bank matches any employee donation up to $150.

One of the largest wildlife hospitals in the nation, Fellow Mortals is a donor-funded organization with a dedicated staff committed to rehabilitation, education and research.

Fellow Mortals provide medical care to injured and orphaned wildlife. It accepts all wild bird species and select mammals including rabbits, squirrels, woodchucks, opossums and beavers.

Fellow Mortals is a living philosophy based on the belief that encouraging compassion in humans towards all life brings out the finest aspects in our humanity.

“When I read their mission statement, I just fell in love with their practice,” said Mangold, who combined her donation with co-worker Michelle Ramos. “I’m honored at the opportunity to donate to such a great cause.”
