#Gift2Giving - Walworth County Food & Diaper Bank

Lending a Helping Hand to Walworth County Families in Need During the Holidays

The Lake Geneva Community State Bank Team was happy to select The Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank to be the recipient of their #Gift2Giving dollars this year.

Because U.S. consumers are paying nearly 40% more for a basket of common grocery items than they did in early 2020, we felt it was important to support an organization that helps promote food security and putting food in the cupboards of so many people who have maybe never struggled in the past, but are finding themselves in different situations this year.

In an effort to do more than just give money to the organization, we also decided to host a diaper drive in our branch lobby. Shortly after deciding to give our donation to a food pantry, we received a flyer in the mail from the Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank.  In bold print it said "$1 = $7 with every $1 you donate, we can purchase $7 in food to help our Walworth County neighbors in need."  WOW, we thought. That's where were giving our money.

So, in total our CSB employees gave $1050 to the Food Bank and that translates to $7350 in food. The mission of the Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank is to provide people of Walworth County nutritional, supplemental food, diapers, feminine hygiene products, and incontinence supplies during a time of crisis, in a cheerful, welcoming, non-judgmental environment without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, physical or developmental disability. They have been serving Walworth County since 2009.

We'd love your help! The CSB Lake Geneva Office Diaper Drive continues in our lobby through Friday, December 15th. Please consider taking part in supporting the Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank by sending a package of diapers to our location before Friday. Thank you!

For this donation, Community State Bank had the opportunity to follow along and feature the story in a podcast! Listen to the story unfold below!
