providing a meal for a family in need
I am excited to give my 2022 #Gift2Giving donation, along with Karen Badtke's donation, to the Union Grove Area Foodbank. Being a mother of three beautiful children has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Our family has been very blessed and I can't imagine the stress placed on families that may struggle day-to-day to provide a warm meal for their children. For this reason, I would like to support local families that may have that worry by providing a donation to the Union Grove Area Foodbank.
The Union Grove Area Foodbank has been operating since 1982 as an emergency needs food pantry for families in the Greater Union Grove Area. As we enter the holiday season, food insecurity is a challenge for many families right in our community. We are facing uncertain times with inflation and rising grocery prices.
The need for the Foodbank is currently up about 1/3 as families are finding it challenging to provide basic needs. Each family is provided with roughly a week’s worth of groceries and can use the food pantry up to six times per year. The Foodbank does not receive government funding and runs solely on wonderful donations from the Greater Union Grove Area. When they say it takes a village, it truly does!
My hope is our $300 combined donation will bless a few more families this holiday season. The Foodbank also provides Thanksgiving baskets to approximately 30 families, holiday food baskets at Christmas time, and presents gifted by generous donors and giving trees at local churches. Thank you Union Grove Area Foodbank for all that you do!
