Community State Bank Named ‘Best Place to Work’ in Kenosha
Award Presented at KACC 110th Annual Meeting
KENOSHA — Community State Bank was presented with an award on Wednesday (Oct. 14), confirming what its employees have seemingly known for years.
In a room filled with local business leaders, elected officials and community champions, Community State Bank was awarded “Best Place to Work” at the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce 110th Annual Meeting at The Club at Strawberry Creek.
“It was a proud moment,” CSB VP | Market President (Kenosha-Racine) Laura Burnett Shoemaker said. “We were chosen from comments received from our own employees as well as the selection committee.”
Each year, the KACC selection committee receives nominations from area employees, who write essays explaining why their company is Kenosha’s “Best Place to Work.”
“This year’s recipient stood out not just for what they provide to their employees, but the culture that they’ve built around them,” KACC Board of Director Trisha Camosy said. “Their nominations spoke again and again about relationships, work-life balance, approachable leadership, opportunities for their employees and a genuine sense of family.”
Community State Bank has served southeast Wisconsin for the past 128 years. It has two locations in Kenosha County with branches at 8304 75th Street in Kenosha and 25360 75th Street in Paddock Lake.
If there’s an impactful, local community event, Community State Bank is likely involved in some capacity whether it’s sponsorship or volunteering.
“We see it everyday with all of the volunteer work and support they do in the community,” KACC President/CEO Dave Strash said. “Community State Bank is always willing to step up.”
Kenosha’s Tom Karnes of LaMacchia Travel served as the keynote speaker. Community State Bank CEO Scott Huedepohl, HR Director Katie Weis and COO Katie Stolp were among several CSB employees in attendance.
CSB AVP | Business Banking Ben Bruno spoke on behalf of KACC’s Leadership Kenosha program and the importance of being involved in the community and volunteering.
“There’s always more that can be done,” said Bruno, a Kenosha native. “There are no shortage of places that can use your help. Reach out to somebody. This community and world would be a better place if everybody just volunteered a little bit more.”
Awards also went out to Kenosha’s Doug Williams as the Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year and George Follensbee of Otto Nelson Moving & Storage for the Chairman’s Award.
The Karrick Apartments, KTEC Schools of Innovation and MelKat’s received the Chamber’s Beautification Award.
