United Way of Racine County

United Way Helps Our Communities Succeed

Journal Entry by Neil Buchanan - SVP | Business Banking & Cash Management

I am very honored to present my 2023 #Gift2Giving donation to United Way of Racine County! Everyone has heard of United Way, but there are so many programs and benefits to a strong United Way in our community! For instance, did you know that 76,000 people in Racine County use services supported by United Way every year? Over one million pounds of food was distributed in 2022. Almost 68,000 free books were delivered to children through Imagination Library. 2,300 students participated in United Way-funded extended learning program. The positive impact is truly vast.

Another important facet of United Way’s work is engaging volunteers. For United Way’s “Day of Caring” this year, I helped to clear the garden at the Burlington Senior Center to have it ready for replanting in the Spring. The Center uses their garden to create meals for the seniors, who tend to the garden through the growing season. I also got to help at United Way’s golf outing this year, which served not only as a fundraiser, but as a way to connect community members with the programs that United Way supports!

United Way helps our communities succeed by investing in services that promote a good, healthy life: education, financial knowledge and stability, and health care. Their impact reaches every corner of Racine County, from the Burlington Senior Living Center to the Health Care Network, the Walking School Bus to the Racine County Food Bank. I’m proud to present my #Gift2Giving donation to such a worthy organization! Thank you United Way of Racine County for all that you do!
